APRQ Ch. 19. Due by Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 8:30AM.

In the United States we often only teach about Africa (and most of the rest of the world) in terms of their relationships with Europe or the United States. It's not just pedagogically wrong, it's criminal. The empires of Africa, Asia, Pre-Columbian America and other, island civilizations did much to shape our past and our present.

Hopefully this course (and this chapter) are illuminating the creativity and success of people groups around the world, not just those that most frequently appear in US textbooks. The course isn't titled "Why White Dudes are Cool and Rule the Earth" and it shouldn't be taught that way.

Enjoy the reading, and the video. Oh, and say hello to the richest man in history... ever!
