APRQ Ch. 34 and 35- Combined

Well, AP Testing Season is officially upon us.

The time to show the skills and knowledge you've accumulated all year (and all of your life, really) is now. Best part is, it never really ends. Everything is a test, and everything is on the test.

So, while I wish you the best on ALL of your AP Exams, my hopes and dreams for you, combined with your romanticized views of the larger world and college, only add up to a false reality that will, at some point, be crushed. The true test will be if you can withstand repeated blows to both your ego and psyche, and if you can take the critical thinking you've learned in classes and apply it to real life situations as they face you. It will come up in bars and clubs, on dance floors and bus rides, in future classes and at family reunions. And, the best part, everyone is watching. However, they will take notice only when you fail.

Sometimes fresh air takes the wind out of your sails, huh?

Well, GO GET'EM, TIGER! I have faith in you, but now YOU have to do it! You have to believe in yourself.

If, after the AP Testing Season ends, you are feeling dejected and disenfranchised, know that you are no different than most soldiers and civilians at the conclusion of WWI. The ideas of war had been passed down to them by people who had never been there or done that (kind of like some of your parents, friends, and siblings who talk to you about college). The result, a drastically different experience and outcome than anticipated. The challenge (it doesn't matter if you choose to accept it or not because it's going to happen... yes, #thestruggle is real), don't suffer an inter-war period where you elect a Hitler or Mussolini to lead your own life.
