APRQ Ch. 22- Due Friday, March 14, 2014 by 8:30AM, YO!

Our APRQ for Chapter 22 has a new look. A lot like the new look the empires of the Post-Classical Era took. Many new, smaller civilizations appeared where none had existed before. In addition, the Afro-Eurasian landmass experienced the establishment and growth of two massive empires, built by traditionally unlikely proprietors. To be sure, the traditional agricultural based empires still existed, but a lot of things changed in terms of who was ruling and how they were doing it.

On that note I want to take one moment to ask you to consider the impact of two groups who have been largely marginalized in Western and World History, until recently that is. The Mongols of the Central Asian Steppes and the Bedouins of pre-Islamic Arabia. Who ever said that only agricultural societies could establish large, complex, and advanced civilizations? I guess the Mongols, and the soon-to-be Muslims, are the exception. #tradelikeaboss #worshipasyoupleaseaaslongasyoupaythejiza

Napoleon was small, especially compared to the Mongols.
